Job Description
Seeking temporary laborers for the Fulfillment Center department at Zippo Manufacturing Company. The openings are on the first shift (Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 2 PM with possible overtime on Saturdays). This is a full-time position with the possibility of a temporary-to-permanent placement.
Primary Function:
Perform various Fulfillment Center duties, inclusive of product put away, product picking, product cleaning, product embellishment (engraving, etc.), labeling, and packaging activities for varying size sales orders.
Primary Duties:
Perform various functions and work activities in a flexible/dynamic work environment to achieve departmental objectives in defined timeframes.
Job requires the ability to:
- Read and understand sales orders
- Handle, count, and transport all products, components, and supplies into and out of inventory locations
- Put away all delivered items to the defined inventory locations (assigned bin /inventory location)
- Pick various products, components and supplies from inventory locations
- Transport picked items to the designated department areas
- Perform product cleaning and boxing (as applicable) for lighter product and other
- Perform identified manual embellishment, packaging and other related activities to prepare product for shipment
- Set-up, adjust & operate equipment to fabricate, embellish & prepare products for shipment (Desk Top Engraver)
- Check components and products for conspicuous defects during all aspects of functions performed
- Determine correct shipping envelops, boxing, labeling and methods (Hazmat, UPS, USPS, etc.) for product shipment
- Monitor availability and requirements of supplies, components and products
- Knowledge of Zippo / Case products and part numbers
Keep machines, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly for operational and work force safety benefits.
Keep any production or quality related records.
Employee is responsible for operational productivity, continuous improvement / suggestions and involvement.
Employee is responsible for product, function, quality, and job safety. This requires the employee to maintain a full working knowledge of the performance, quality and safety requirements of the function being performed.
The employee is to support job related operational training needs regarding existing and or new manufacturing practices / processes / technologies.
Perform any other duties related in nature that may be assigned by the supervisor.
